Poison prick

the poison prick (also military prick), for example of ants, bees, wasps and Hornets, developed evolution-historically (phylogenetisch) from an original putting drill (Ovipositor). Thus only female animals possess this characteristic with wasps and can thus sting. The prick is missing to the males (drones) of the wasps.

The military prick led to the term Stechwespen used sometimes. In addition, other groups of animals can possess a poison prick.

Also many fictitious animals as for instance the Mantikor have a poison prick.
