Gold medal

the gold medal is the victory price for the first place with (not necessarily sporty) a match, z. B. with olympic plays. Likewise gold medals become in addition, for culinary maximum output (z. B. with wine costing), for technical and successes relating to crafts (with inventor fairs, trade fairs) or for school maximum output (mathematics Olympiad, foreign language Olympiad) lent.

The gold medal has primarily symbolic value, because it stands as acknowledgment for the furnished achievement. With increasing commercialization of the sport enterprise rises however also the indirect material value, which results from the marketing opportunities (advertising contracts , sponsors).
