Gossau is a town (political municipality) with 17 ' 070 inhabitants; it covers the localities Gossau and Arnegg.
It lies in the canton pc. Gallen in east Switzerland. It is inhabitant-moderately the third biggest city in the canton after the city pc. Gallen and Jona.
Gossau is not so well-known, since it is not necessarily a city for strolling and it goes down by the large number of neighbour cities in the proximity somewhat (pc. Gallen, Herisau, Wil). Gossau is however particularly for the foodstuffs industry inimportant location. Most of the largest grocery chains (Migros, Coop) and - manufacturers have there the selling centers for the region east Switzerland.
In the north from Gossau is the largest private zoo of Switzerland, the walter zoo. Further objects of interest are the lock upper mountain and variousRuins (ruin helping mountain, ruin rose mountain), which lie around Gossau. The bishop cell first race is the centerline between Arnegg and Gossau. Some enterprises seams the way and form the support leg of the Gossauer of small trade.
