Granada (province)
the province Granada (Spanish Provincia de Granada) is one of the eight provinces in the east of the autonomous region Andalusien in south Spain. The capital is Granada.
It borders on the provinces Málaga, Córdoba, Jaén, Albacete, Murcia and Almería, as well as to the Mediterranean.
The surface of the province extends over 12.635 km ², the number of inhabitants amounts to 860.898 persons (2005), on whom live approximately 30 per cent in the capital.
The province Granada communicates itself Almería the national park Sierra Nevada. There also the highest mountain lies on the Spanish mainland (Mulhacén, 3481 m over NN).
