Geografie
largely Stieten lies between the Hanseatic city Wismar and the north bank of the Schweriner of lake. The environment is easily hilly, it forms a part of the North Sea Baltic Sea water sheath.

history

The history of the village is very multilayered thereby. In the many years, which the village before the Second World War exisiterte, the life was determined by a property yard. After the war became - like everywhere in the Soviet zone of occupation at that time - which great land owners expropriated and which distributes surrounding country in the context of the land reform at new farmers. In the 50's of the last century then an agrarian school in largely Stieten, whose buildings exist this very day, formed. Stieten became large in the circle Wismar the most important training centre for agricultural occupations.
With the education of the agricultural production cooperatives in the GDR in the village a state-owned property (VEG) was created, differently than the LPGen over no agricultural country ordered, but directly than animal breeding and - raising-operated worked. In the following time under the operations director Erich Tack and also after its death experienced the village its largest bloom, the number of inhabitants rose into the 80's on nearly 1.500.
