Grodzisk Mazowiecki is a city in Poland in the Wojewodschaft Masowien approx. 30 km southwest from Warsaw.

history
the first slawischen settlements in the place of the today's Grodzisk Mazowiecki existed already in the 11. up to 13. Century. The first firm Ansieldung originated in in 12. Century. At that time probably also the name of the place developed; Grodzisko meant as much as fastened settlement. The first documentary mention originates from 1355. In this year Tomasz Grodziski let a church in the place establish. The municipal law received the place to 22. July 1522 of Sigismund I.. Owner of the city was at this time the family Okuń. 1623 changed the city into the property of the Mokronowski. 1655 were destroyed the place of Sweden, 1708 again. It followed Choleraepidemie. 1795 became the place part of Prussia and were received 1807 into the Grand Duchy of Warsaw and 1815 congress Poland . To 14. June 1845 was attached Grodzisk Mazowiecki to the rail net and had thereby direct connection to Warsaw and Vienna. Nevertheless velor the place 1870 its municipal law. 1881 were established the first factory. 1884 were opened the first institute for hydrotherapy in the adjacent Jordanowice. In the process of the 1. World war the place was destroyed. 1915 received Grodzisk Mazowiecki the municipal law back and returned three years later to the borders of Poland . During 2. World war lost the place approx. 5000 inhabitants.
