Gustav “Bubi” Scholz (* 12. April 1930 in Berlin, Prenzlauer mountain; † 21. August 2000, Berlin) was a German Boxer.
He lived in the Choriner road 54 in Berlin. Its father was forges, the nut/mother was a housewife. Its first money earned himself he with newspaper delivering.
“Bubi” Scholz celebrated its largest successes end of the 50's and at the beginning of the 60's. It was excluding professional boxers (never amateur). It applied at this time as most popular Boxer in Germany and achieved some international successes. In the time of 1958 to 1961 it held the European champion title in the middleweight and 1964 the title in the light heavyweight . In sum it denied 96 fights, about which it won 88, of it 41 through k.o. ; only it (in each case defeats to points) lost two times.
After its active career it made more attentive with alcohol excesses on itself. It reached its Tiefpunkt, when it shot 1984 in the alcohol intoxication his 49-jährige Mrs. Helga. It became to 23. July 1984 in Berlin arrested. Thereupon it was condemned to an imprisonment by three years because of negligent killing.
In October 1993 the 63-jährige Scholz marries the 35-jährige Sabine Arndt in the Charlottenburger register office.
“Bubi” Scholz died to 21. August 2000, after it had suffered several impact accumulations in the years before and with it Alzheimer and dementia had been diagnosed. The cause of death was a piece bread, at which it had swallowed itself. Its widow Sabine is today married with the actor Klausjürgen Wussow (secret marriage ceremony with the register office Berlin Charlottenburg to 25. March 2004).
Its life was filmed and radiated to Silvester 1998 /Neujahr 1999 by the pool of broadcasting corporations under the title “the Bubi Scholz story”, whereby Benno Fürmann represented the young , Götz George the old Scholz. Scholz could not participate because of its bad state of health at that time in the premiere.
