Gymnasion

a Gymnasion ((old) Greek γυμνάσιο (ν) of gymnós = “naked”, since the Leichtathleten implemented its exercises unbekleidet) was in the antique Greece a training place for athletes, usually in form one of Säulenhallen and baths of gesäumten yard - later then the designation of the place, at which philosophers and Rhetoriker spoke the young person their teachings.

In 2. Century v. Chr. delighted Gymnasion in Olympia was a large place limited laterally by Säulenhallen and served the Leichtathleten for preparation on the olympic plays.
