Hans Albers became as a son of the butcher master Philipp Albers („beautiful William “mentioned) andits Mrs. Johanna in being enough row in Hamburg quarters the pc. George as the youngest of six children born. It began first buyer teachings, fallow these however soon again off and tried the theatre, at first with moderate success. Ittook without knowledge of his father with secret financial support of his nut/mother private play instruction.

As a soldier in the First World War Hans Albers was wounded to the west front drawn in (1915) and heavily. A Beinamputation threatened it, which he - so thoseNarration - energetically rejected.

After the First World War Albers played amusing roles to different citizen of Berlin theatres and at the amusing opera above all. Its first large success was the role of a waiter in the piece the criminals. Its teacher andPromoter was the late in the Ghetto Theresienstadt a murdered actor Eugen castle.

After over one hundred silent movie roles it played 1929 in the first German Tonfilm the night belongs to us and shortly thereafter at the side of Marlene Dietrich in the blue angel. it turned 1930 under the direction of the later president of the realm film chamber, Carl Froelich, the comedy Hans in all lanes.

After the seizure of power by the national socialists it became the separation from his life companion, the actress Hansi castle, pushed; Hansi castle was the daughter of its Jewish Mentors Eugen castle. After some time Albers gave way and separated officially from it. It lived however far with it at the Starnberger lake. There it possessed since 1933 in Garatshausen with Tutzing a mansion with 27,000 m ² a large property. Albers further successfully turned films, although he did not go to 1945 no more to the theatre, in order to extract itself from the Nazis. For Hansi castle became Nazi Germany too dangerously,Albers wanted to know its Lebenspartnerin in security, it ensured for the fact that she emigrierte 1939 over Switzerland to England. It returned in the year 1946 to Garatshausen, and Albers separated again from its intermediate friend. Albers remained timeits life single; it lived childless and lucky up to its death 1960 with Hansi castle in Garatshausen with Tutzing at the Starnberger lake.

1943 brought the color film produced for the 25-year old anniversary of the UFA at large expenditure again a large to MuenchhausenPublic success. To the national socialists Hans Albers had a very much dissociated relationship; it never appeared at the side of hochrangingen Nazi functionaries. Thus he did without the receipt of a play price from the hand of Joseph Goebbels. Nevertheless was it furtherwith Goebbels much likes, then it could demand and receive also very high fees.

Likewise 1943 it turned large liberty No. together with Ilse Werner under the direction Helmut Käutners the color film. 7: The turning work had because of the bomb attacksat Berlin in Prague to be continued. The film was never publicly demonstrated however because of the tendency to end of war, apart from Ur and further performances in Prague, dark from view of the Nazis.

After the Second World War it worked in some successfulFilms with (and. A. with Heinz resting man), and also its songs had large success. Particularly its songs, with which it itself already since 1932 as striking sword (flier, greet' me the sun), as a sailor (the wind andthe sea) or as Kavalier (come on the swing, Luise) represented.

Despite its public successes of the Vorkriegs and wartime and although it could start politically to a large extent unloaded into the post-war period, in the following years really large remained for itSuccesses malfunctions. Its largest problem into the 1950er years was its alcohol dependence, which it knew to always mask in prüden postwar Germany.

At the 23.Juni 1960, Albers received one month before its death the large Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for itsLife's work from the hand by Federal President Heinrich Luebke.

To 24. July 1960 died Hans Albers in a sanatorium in Kempfenhausen at the Starnberger lake.
