Harrisburg (Pennsylvania)
Harrisburg is the capital US - of the Federal State Pennsylvania. The city is in the Dauphin County in the southeast of the Federal State because of the river Susquehanna and has 48,600 inhabitants (2000).
The city Herris Ferry (Harrys was the surname one the founder of the city) was called original. 1785 erhielt sie den heutigen Namen.
1812 wurde sie zur Hauptstadt des US-Bundestaates Pennsylvania erhoben.
Die Stadt Harrisburg ist 1979 durch den Three Mile Island-Unfall, der in der Nachbarstadt Middletown geschah, weltbekannt geworden.
