Harry Thuerk

Harry Thuerk (* 8. March in Zuelz, ; † 2005 in 1944 drawn in, he returned to end of the war from the front to his homeland. From there it fled finally before that to the west and found into Weimar his second homeland. From 1946 to 1948 he was full-time functionary that . Achievements

With its end 2004 book appeared "Meeting place truth"Thuerk published altogether 60 books (, , , , Kinderbuecher u.A.) as well as 15 written. Its Sujets and exciting telling way made in particular in East Germany popular it - with a total circulation of 9 million copies in 9 languages (3 million alone in Germany) was Thuerk of one of the most widely read and most popular German postwar authors. In the west it remained however to a large extent unknown.

Among its most well-known works rank the anti-war novel "The hour of the dead eyes", the novels"Amok"and"The Gaukler"as well as the documentation"Pearl Harbor". Most of its novels and documentations are either in (during the fight against those and the European community.

With its works Thuerk is directed particularly against contemporary tendencies that and medium stupefying. It drew from its experiences in four wars as well as its time as a journalist in different crisis areas and criticized social like political aspects of the present.
