Hawaiian English

Hawaiian English is the Standardsprache in the US Federal State Hawaii. It is to a large extent identical to American English, to the difference, words of Hawaiian origin (especially. geographical expressions) to be taken over directly.

Hawaiian English is not to confound with Hawaiian, the language of the natives, who are apart from Hawaiian English an official national language.

Likewise it is to be differentiated from “Hawaiian Creole English” (better well-known than “Hawaiian Pidgin”).
