“someone home-shine” are a German idiom.
the word - which today repeatedly with “pay back” one confounds - meant in former times, someone with a lantern or a torch/flare home accompany. With moonlight this dear service could be void with unplanned late departure of the visitor - or it got another meaning, if one wanted to loose-be finite someone. So the linguistic usage has “home lights” - similarly as e.g. the word “commonly” - in negatives operates.
