Helene Mayer
Helene Mayer (* 12. December 1910 in open brook at the Main; † 15. October 1953 in Munich) was a German Fechterin.
With the olympic plays 1928 in Amsterdam it won the first gold medal in fencing for Germany at all.
After the profit thatTo gold medals with the fencing world championships 1929 and 1931 Mayer went into the USA, in order to study in California international right. As it because of their Jewish descent the membership in their association for local history, from which Offenbacher fencing club was extracted, decided Helene Mayer in the USA tooremain.
For the olympic plays 1936 in Berlin it returned again to Germany and won for Germany the silver medal. Immediately after the winner honour, with which she raised the arm to the Hitler greeting, it returned however to the USA and took later the AmericanNationality on.
1952 returned Helene Mayer again to Germany and married in Munich the flight engineer Erwin Falkner of sun castle. To 15. October 1953 succumbed it to a cancer suffering. Helene Mayer is buried on Munich forest cemetery.
