Hellmuth Karasek

Hellmuth Karasek (* 4. January 1934 in Brünn) is a German journalist, book author and a literary critic.

Its family fled, when it was ten years old, from Bielitz (at that time east Upper Silesia, now Poland) over stopovers after Berne castle to the Saale (Saxonia-Anhalt). Karasek moved to the Abitur from the GDR into the FRG. After study of the Germanistik, history and Anglistik in Tübingen he was attained a doctorate and began its journalistic career with the Stuttgart newspaper.
