Henry King
Henry King (* 24. January 1886 in Christian castle, Virginia; † 29. June 1982 in Toluca Lake, California) was an US-American film director.
Before Henry King came to the still young film, he played in repertoire theatres as an actor. He took over small roles in films since 1912. For the first time direction led it 1915 and developed in the 1920er and 1930er years to at the Kinokassen of most successful directors Hollywoods. He was nominated twice for a OSCAR as a best director, without getting the desired Trophäe however. For its film the song of the Bernadette, after Franz who rock novel of the same name, he kept the first Globe Award golden to 1944 as a best director, who was ever assigned.
Henry King was one of the 36 founders of the Academy OF Motion Picture kind and Sciences, which assigns each year the OSCAR. He produced more than 100 films in his career.
