Hilde sparrow

Hilde sparrow, geb. Crowing angle (* 26. March 1908 in meals; † 14. February 1981 in Denmark) was a German Tennisspielerin.

It applies after Steffi Graf and beside Cilly Aussem as the most successful German Tennisspielerin at all and belonged to the best player inside the thirties.

Sparrow held itself from 1930 to 1939 under that the ten best player inside the tennis world rank list and stood in its best years 1936 and 1937 on place 2.

It won French the championships from 1935 to 1937 three times in consequence and defeated the Französin Simone Matthieu here in each case. In the history of the French open such a having trick succeeded only to Helen Wills Moody (1928-1930) and Monica Seles (1990-1992).

Hilde sparrow stood also twice in the final game of Wimbledon. 1931 were subject it in the purely German final to Cilly Aussem. Besides she achieved the title in the Mixed at the page Gottfried of Cramms in the year 1936.

In addition it won the international German tennis championships from 1933 to 1939 7 times in consequence (today German open).

Hilde sparrow died in the year 1981 in its Wahlheimat Denmark.
