Hochdruckgebiet
Hochdruckgebiet, also anti-cyclone (singular), one calls areas, which are horizontal by a higher air pressure, contrary to the environment, characterized.
In a Hochdruckgebiet air masses drop spaciously. Warms upitself air adiabatically, so that no condensation and therefore Wolkenbildung can take place. At ground level air flows out of the Hochdruckgebiet toward Tiefdruckgebiete outside - it diverges. There are therefore in the high no fronts.
In the Northern Hemisphere the wind flows aroundHighly in the clockwise direction, thus in the mathematically negative direction of rotation, in the Southern Hemisphere accordingly in reverse.
