University-level graduation
the university-level graduation is the generic term for all graduations, which entitle to the study at a university.
In the German linguistic area there are three different kinds of the university-level graduation:
- The general university-level graduation ( the Abitur, the Matura) entitled to the study at all universities (universities,Technical one. Universities, academies of art and music, educational universities, professional schools, etc.).
- The specializedbound university-level graduation (the specializedbound Abitur) entitled to the study only certain fan at the universitären universities, but all academic subjects at professional schools.
- The specialized university-level graduation (called in Switzerland Berufsmatura) entitled to the study exclusively for specialized higher education coursesat professional schools and comprehensive universities
vocational academies, which are not universities, require one certification of the specializedbound university-level graduation mostly at least. Due to application orientated training at vocational academies here however a certification of the specialized university-level graduation is sufficient from the principle.
The designations “specialized technical “and Berufsmatura usually meanthe specialized university-level graduation, more rarely is meant with specialized Abitur in addition, the specializedbound university-level graduation.
