Holzape
the Holzape is about 20 km a long supply of the Diemel in the district Kassel, Hessen (Germany).

the brook rises in North Hesse. Its source is in the pure hard forest at the west slope of the Staufenbergs. The Holzape bolting ELT itself mostly by a completely nature-left and idyllisches valley. After flowing through the pure hard forest, whose longest running waters is the Holzape, and passing the property mill Wülmersen, to whose enterprise (attitude 1904) by the Holzape branching Mühlbach was put on, it flows directly below Wülmersen, a small local part of Trendelburg, and/or. underneath the surge tank Wülmersen into the Diemel, a tributary of the Weser.
The catchment area of the Holzape covers approximately 59 km ².
Wasserscheide
the source area of the Holzape is itself by the way on the quite elongated Diemel Eder/Fulda/Weser Wasserscheide that is called, the Holzape, which flows into northwest direction, over which Diemel into the Weser drained, while the brooks, which rise at the north and east slope of the Staufenbergs, flow directly into the Weser.
flood protection
for the flood protection was planned to establish within the range of the underflow of the usually water-rich Holzape above Wülmersen that approximately 54 hectars large floodcontrol storage basins Friedrichsfeld; Friedrichsfeld is a local part of Trendelburg, been on a high surface with fields and meadows above running waters. The total reservoir of the basin, that normally with 3,9 millions m ³ water dammed up would be, became on 5,8 millions m ³ computes, from which 1.9 millions m ³ flood support area result. The basin, for which a ground connection and a Steinschüttdamm were planned, was however never implemented, so that in the close valley above the property mill Wülmersen still is a nature and a water protection zone.

to the most well-known objects of interest nearby or to the Holzape belongs directly beside the pure hard forest the Sababurg, the jungle, the wet cloud break and the surge tank Wülmersen. In addition one can on some Waldwegen, which run about parallel to the Holzape moving or a Radtour make.
