Inscription
the registration or inscription at a university is an administrative procedure, with which a person becomes as a student at the university taken up and thus member of this university. The inscription effected with the student secretariat or office for inscription of a university, the student is then led in the university register.

conditions
over at a university in Germany to be registered to be able, must be fulfilled certain conditions. A most important condition is the university-level graduation: For a study at a university the general university-level graduation (the Abitur ) becomes, forStudy at a professional school the specialized university-level graduation needs. In nearly all Lands of the Federal Republic of Germany exist state-specific regulations, which make possible also a study without Abitur. In Austria one needs for this a Matura or a study authorization.

the universities require partly different documents and proofs, thosewith the inscription to submit are. These can be:
- The university access authorization (Abitur, proof of the specialized university-level graduation)
- valid identity card or passport
- the proof of the health insurance
- the proof that the social insurance contribution was paid
- one or more passport pictures (for studying document of identification and study book)
- with the inscription for permission-limited fan: The licence notice(see number Clausus)
- with foreign students: The proof of sufficient knowledge in the German language
- with university change: the proof of the Exmatrikulation of the German university with academic subjects
- with suitability statement, visited last, (e.g. Sport, art, music, architecture, Design): The proof of the successfully existed aptitude test.
- Possiblya certificate of good conduct, that in time with the office for citizen to be requested must or a proof over requesting taken place.
