Ion N. Petrovici
ion N. Petrovici (* 19. August 1929 in Ploieşti) is a German neurologist, apl. Professor for neurology and psychiatry at the medical faculty of the university to Cologne and director of the neurological hospital Cologne Merheim. It described 1962 the crossed Asyphigmo Pyramidal syndrome.
Ion N. Petrovici became to 19. August 1929 in Ploieşti (Romania) born, where it locked the national High School Petrus and Paulus 1947 with the Abitur. Its study of the medicine at the University of Bucharest it terminated 1953 with the medical state examination and attained a doctorate with the work degenerative Diskopathien.
The further training in the neurology received Petrovici with Arthur Kreindler and Vlad Voiculescu in the hospital for neurology of the institute for neurological research of the Romanian academy for science in the years 1956 - to 1959.
1964 stepped Ion.N. Petrovici into the neurosurgical university clinic Bucharest as directors/conductors of the department for präoperative diagnostics. Together with Constantin Arseni, director of the neurosurgical hospital, published Petrovici 1965 the Monographie container-caused illnesses of the brain and the Rückenmarks and was 1966 main adviser at the national congress for neurology of Bucharest with the topic the tumors of the Temporallapens.
Ion N. Petrovici moved 1969 to Germany, where he took up his activity in the hospital for neurology institute for Max-Planck for brain research under the direction of Klaus Joachim of the Zülch. There long co-operation began J with K. -. Zülch, to habiliteren itself which demanded it in the area of the neurological research, so that it, apart from its obligations as a hospital physician, was possible Petrovici, also scientifically to work and 1978 with the thesis hemispherical differences and inter+hemispherical transmission of learning with patients with fokalen brain lesions. 1983 became it by the Secretary of cultural affairs of the country North Rhine-Westphalia the rights one apl. Professor for neurology and psychiatry at the university to Cologne lent.
1985 were appointed Petrovici as the director of the neurological hospital Cologne Merheim, academic hospital of the university as Cologne, function, which he dressed up to his retirement 1994.
Scientifically the work employed it over cerebro vascular illnesses, over therapy of the malignant brain tumors, over the neurological localization teachings and, above all, over special problems of the neuro psychology, like functional hemispherical specialization, inter+hemispherical transfer of the information, the left (non-dominant factor) brain hemisphere and the language. The results of these studies appeared in 14 contributions to Monographien and manuals as well as into over 200 articles in technical periodicals.
Its contributions for the development of the neuro science found academic earnings/services and the honor with the G. by the honorary membership in the Romanian academy for medical science and 2003 by the diploma. Marine cu intending coin of the Romanian academy acknowledgment.
Ion N. Petrovici is member of the German society for neurology, German society for clinical neuro physiology, German society for Neurosychologie, Società Italiana di Neurologia, European Neurological Society, New York Academy OF Sciences and Fellow OF the Royal Society OF Medicine (London).
