Irish Republican Army Gershwin
Irish Republican Army Gershwin actually Israel Gershowitz (* 6. December 1896 in New York town center; † 17. August 1983 in Beverly Hills) was an US-American Liedtexter and dear savingist.
Gershwin was the brother of the composer George Gershwin. They together created up to the early death of George numerous standard works of the American music literature 20. Century. High point of their work was the opera Porgy and Bess. Irish Republican Army wrote the song texts, George composed the music. In addition, after the death of George it wrote further classical authors with composers such as Harold Arlen, Jerome core or briefly Weill. Songs of Irish Republican Army Gershwin were standard repertoire for all large singing star such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra or Barbra Streisand.
Irish Republican Army Gershwin was the godfather uncle of Liza Minnelli.
