Jean Baptiste Meusnier de la Place
Jean Baptiste Marie Charles Meusnier de la Place (* 19. June 1754 route; † 13. June 1793 Mainz Kastel) was a French mathematician and general.
Meusnier de la Place studied mathematics and locked with very good results. it went to 1776 to the army and went through a steep career. To 5. May 1793 was promoted Meusnier de la Place to general de Division of the 14e regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne.
Meusnier worked beyond that with Antoine Lavoisier on the electrolysis and manufactured thereby already hydrogen without he could designate the element. It became at the 3. January 1784 taken up to the French Academy of Sciences.
Meusnier admits de la Place as it 1784 suggested giving to percussion airships through so-called of ballonet one by internal positive pressure determined form a technology those is this very day used. From the daraufffolgenden year originates an airship draft, which shows all substantial components of an airship already.
To it also the Meusnier' theorem decreases/goes back over the bend of surfaces.
