Joanot Martorell
Joanot Martorell (* 1413 in Gandia south of Valencia; † 1468) were a valencianische author of the first modern novella, Tirant lo blank, which was published in Catalan. The first publication 1490 in Valencia did not experience the author any longer. 1497 were again-published it in Barcelona. This work became already of Miguel de Cervantes, who was inspieriert by Martorells work, when “the best book of the world” and “a treasure of the satisfaction and a mine of the pastime” mark.
It inherited the Ländereien of Jalon from its father. There there is today one after the poet designated avenue. It belongs to today together with Ausiàs March to the most important Catalan writers.
