Yokes Bleicken

yokes Bleicken (* 3. September 1926 in Westerland, Sylt; † 24. February 2005 in Hamburg) was a German old historian.

lives

the son of a buyer studied history and classical philology at the Universities of Kiel and Frankfurt/Main from 1948 to 1954. it attained a doctorate to 1954 with Alfred Heuss in Kiel and habilitierte themselves 1961 in Goettingen. When tidy professor dressed he chairs for old person history at the Universities of Hamburg (1962), Frankfurt/Main (1967) and as a successor of its teacher Heuss in Goettingen (1977-1991), where it was emeritiert 1991 and up to the winter semester 1998/99 still meetings held.

An emphasis of Bleickens activity the history of the Roman republic and the Kaiser era , where it repeats numerous, partly presented standard works created, formed among them last an extensive and much-considered Augustus - for Biografie. Within the range of Greek history busy it itself particularly with the athenischen democracy.

Since 1978 Bleicken was member of the Academy of Sciences to Goettingen.
