John Farrow
John Farrow (* 10. February 1904 in Sydney; † 28. January 1963 in Beverly Hills) was an Australian film script author and director.
Farrow began to write, when in the British navy served, first Kurzgeschichten, then also plays. Into the 1920er years came he to Hollywood as technical advisors for naval films and wrote its first film scripts. 1936 he married the well-known Darstellerin of the Jane from the Tarzan - films: Maureen O'Sullivan. 1937 he began to work also as a director. Farrow turned 1953 with John Wayne its only 3D-Film, „one calls me Honshu “(Honshu).
Farrow and O'Sullivan were married up to its death after a cardiac infarct 1963 and had seven children. The most famous daughters are Mia Farrow and Prudence Farrow. Mia Farrow became famous by the marriage with Frank Sinatra and its first large Kinfilm Rosemary's baby of novel Polanski. Prudence Farrow became famous by the song of the Beatles Dear Prudence. However the father could not see the celebrity of the daughters any longer.
John Farrow received the OSCAR for the best adapted film script for in 80 days around the world 1957.
