Joseph Maria Stowasser (* 10. March 1854 in Troppau, (today Opava), † 24. March 1910 in Vienna) was a Austrian Altphilologe.
It was Altphilologe and central school teacher in free city and Vienna. Tooits publications count Latin - German dictionary (“the Stowasser”, 1894), in upper-Austrian dialect translated Greek Epigramme and in the Greek (“Greek Schnadahüpfeln”, 1903) translated upper-Austrian “Gstanzln”. The “Stowasser” achieved the status of a classical author as wide-spread school dictionary. It appeared in numerous editions.
