Cologne Fühlingen
Fühlingen is belonged a quarter in Cologne and to the urban district Chorweiler. It is appropriate for about 2 km in the linksrheinischen north of the city, far away from the Rhine. Supraregional is southern Fühingen admits by that the place local recreation area Fühlinger lake lain.
history
by its situation as flood-safe hills west the Rhine was already very early settled Fühlingen. Archaeological finds of settlement traces decrease/go back into the Jungsteinzeit . In the area of the Fühlinger of lake there were several brickyards at the Roman time. In the Middle Ages the place in the shade of the larger, north lain Worringen lay and consisted only of some farms. The responsible parish church was pc. Amandus in Rhine Kassel. In 19. Century established the banker family Oppenheim few hundred meters south the place a stud with own racecourse for training purposes. After violent protests of the adjacents resident the plan was let fall 1973 again.

Fühlingen has at present about 2,100 inhabitants. Still the place exhibits village structures, although at the west edge a larger development area developed and also within the place numerous in and two-family houses developed. By the settlement structure, the visible size and the situation in the midst of of fields and at the Fühlinger lake is the place a popular populated area. Problematic is however the traffic structure: The federal highway 9 leads in the middle by the place; those since more than 30 years planned by-pass road was already not realized until today.
