geography

the canton Uri lies in central Switzerland between the Vierwaldstättersee in the north and the God hard in the south. Uri is onethe three Urkantone (initial members) of the confederation. The other two are: Schwyz and Unterwalden.

Uri borders on the cantons grey federations (SO), Tessin (s), whale-reads (SW), Berne (W), Obwalden (W), Nidwalden (W), Schwyz (N) and Glarus (NO).
