Kenneth L. Pike

Kenneth Lee Pike (* 9. June 1912; † 31. December 2000) was an American linguist and Anthropologe. Admits became 'emisch 'it by its theory of the Tagmemik and for the terms vs. 'etisch ', which it coined/shaped. From 1947 to 1979 he was a president SIL of the international. Besides it designed the plan language Kalaba x as aid for the theory and practice of translations.

Pike was convinced Christian and strove in its work partially to supply a justification for missionary activities within linguistics and the anthropology. He was nominated for his work fifteen successive years ( 1982 - 1996) for the Nobel peace prize, which he however never received.
