Child bed fever
the child bed fever (other designations are childbed - and Puerperalfieber) is an infection, which can occur after a relieving during the childbed or after an abortion. A cause are bacteria, which penetrate into the birth wound at the Gebärmutter. The consequences are inflammations of the Peritoneum, the bearing nut/mother mucous membrane and further organs, which can lead up to the Sepsis (blood poisoning) and death.
In former times the child bed fever arose very frequently and was one of the causes for the high mother number of deaths. Only in 19. To century recognized Ignaz roll-point the bad hygenic conditions (in particular alsoin the hospitals) as well as unsatisfactory cleanliness and disinfection of the physicians as reason for the illness.
