Lancashire is a county in England, at the Irish sea.
The countyborders on the Countys Cumbria, North Yorkshire, west Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside as well as on the county-free areas of Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen.
before the regional reorganization of 1974 still bordered the county on Cumberland, Westmorland, Yorkshire and Cheshire. The area was now made smaller, in order to simplify the administration.
