the district Aurich is in the extreme northwest of Lower Saxony and forms the center of the historical landscape East Frisia. It has in the west andThe north a coast along the North Sea. The district Aurich developed in its current expansion in the year 1977in the course of the local reform of Lower Saxony and from the former districts Aurich and the north were formed.
