the district Fürth is a district in the center of middle Franconia in Bavaria. The neighbour circles are in the north the district attaining high city, in the east the circle-free large cities Nuremberg and Fürth, in the south the district Roth, in the southwest the district Ansbach and in the northwest the district new city at the Aisch baths wind home.

Direction the west changes the district into the agriculturally coined/shaped west middle Franconia . The district Fürth is the smallest Bayerns. The landscape is coined/shaped by the Frankish layer stage country: The high surface sandstone keupers becomes of the Bibert, the Zennand smaller rivers in broad valleys cut through. Due to the plentifully lining up training mountain layers (clay/tone) there is a rich brick industry in the northern district , particularly in Langenzenn.

The district becomes in the north of B 8 (Nuremberg - peppering castle) pulled through, whereby the B8 between the city boundary Fürth to behind Langenzenn is motorway-similarly developed, since this was originally planned as A752. In the south of the districtis B 14 (Pilsen - Nuremberg - Stuttgart).

Railway

1844 operated for the first time with the Erichtung the distance Nuremberg - Bamberg in the district Fürth a railway.

From it 1865 branched the distance in Fürth to peppering castle. By thatThe south of the circle drags on since 1875 the main course Nuremberg - Ansbach.

Later the surrounding countryside was opened still by three local railways:

The Bavarian state railways finally resumed 1872 the Zenngrundbahn from seal village to Langenzenn, 1895 after Wilhermsdorf and 1902to market Erlbach.

The local railway corporation Munich followed in the year 1890/92 with the Rangaubahn (in the vernacular Moggerla) from Fürth to Zirndorf - Cadolzburg.

Finally still 1914 a further local railway of the Bavarian state railways were added, the Bibertbahn (in the vernacular Bibert Bärbel),in only mountain stone of the Ansbacher main course and over Fürth south and Zirndorf Altenberg toward Unternbibert Rügland separated ran. The passenger traffic of this course was completely shut down 1971 starting from bulk scraper village and 1986.

Thus the Eisenbahnnetz is around nearly a quarter of87 km reduced to 69 km.

The Biberttal is served since then by a Buslinie the bus traffic Franconia (OVF). The future of the track between corpse village and stone is uncertain. Different planning into the 1990ern saw a connection of the track stump alsothe Rangaubahn forwards. The plans failed because of economy, the underground structural drawings in Nuremberg and political resistances in the district.
