Le Grand Saconnex is a political municipality in the canton Geneva in Switzerland.
Le Grand Saconnex succeeded 1536 under Bernese rule. Since 1601 it belonged to France. 1815 went the municipality to Switzerland to the canton Geneva.
Into the 1960er years experienced the municipality a large increase, it developed a suburbanes center between the city and the airport Aéroport international de Genève in the quarter Cointrin. The latter divides Le Grand Saconnex with the municipality Meyrin. In Le Grand Saconnex have many organizations their seat and the Palexpo.
