history

Lee County became to 27. February 1839 from the southern part of the Ogle County and parts bond of the County and Clark County in an educated manner. It was designated after smelling pool of broadcasting corporations Henry Lee, an US-American statesman and US senator of Virginia.

1830 set John Dixon with several other humans and covered wagon with the ferry over the skirt River and settled on the side lying opposite. This was the birth of the city Dixon. Dixons ferry was an important point, since the skirt River on 80 km could be crossed currentup and downstream only here. 1846 came John Deere, Gründer of the later tractor factory of the same name, into the County and created a small factory, which manufactured steel plows and other equipment for the agriculture. 10 years later it produced 1,000 plows per year.
