Lemma (Lexikografie)

That Lemma (Pl. "Lemmata") is in that Lexikografie and Linguistics the basic form of a word, thus the word form, under which one in one Encyclopedia looks up. Likewise the Lemma can represent a over term for related topics. Here however increased of one Descriptor spoken.

The word "mice" is arranged for example under the Lemma "mouse". The procedure for the determination of the more exact Lemmata is designated than Lemmaselektion.

In that Wikipedia are above all term clarifying and the disputed list articles (z. B. Would list German cities, List of the painters) Lemmata, but actually Descriptors.

Lemmatisation

The definition of the form and the arrangement of the Lemmata become also Lemmatisation called. A subset directly sequential Lemmata forms one Lemmastrecke.

Lemmaselektion

Before the lemmatisation one becomes Lemmaselektion accomplished, with one decides, which kinds by Lemmata to the encyclopedia to be taken up. Those Lemmaselektion is necessary, there a complete lemmatisation of all words, Word parts and wortgruppen of a language is not possible. A criterion for the admission of a Lemmas into an encyclopedia is the time interval, in that the term in the respective language exists.

Those Pluralform word is produced among other things by adding a "s" (example: Car? Car). The German language knows however different irregular forms of the Plurals (example: Mouse? Mice). Because it concerns an exception form of the Plurals, became one the word of mice in Duden find.
