Lincoln-almost [ˈlɪŋkənʃɪə] is a countyinto the East of avoiding country in England, the second largest after Yorkshire. Lincoln-almost borders on Norfolk, Cambridge-almost, Rutland, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, East Riding OF Yorkshire and (only for 19 meters - England smallest border) on Northamptonshire. ThatAdministrative seat is Lincoln.
The mainly agriculturally coined/shaped county extends from the southern border with Norfolk up to the Humber in the north, at the border to Yorkshire. From flat march country over a hilly heath landscape (Lincoln-almost Wolds) the county up to the lowlandses pulls itselfin the proximity of the fishing port Grimsby.

history
Lincoln-almost resulted from the combination of the areas of the earlier Kingdom of Lindsey with the Borough Stamford, too Dane-lay belonged. Some time was called the entire county Lindsey, when such is it also in the Domesday Book registered. Later only the northern core Lindsey was called around Lincoln Lindsey and became thereby beside parts of Holland in the southeast and Kesteven in the southwestone of the three parts of Lincoln-almost.
1888 were furnished in each case in Lindsey, Holland and Kesteven an advice of the county. It, until 1974 Holland, remained Kesteven and the largest part of Lindsey as Lincoln-almost was combined, during the northern part, with Scunthorpe and Grimsby toagain formed county Humberside came.
Humberside was extracted by a further local reform 1996 out Lincoln-almost and with that south the Humber lying parts of a territory to two independent urban areas (Unitary Authorities), i.e. North Lincoln-almost and North East Lincoln-almost. These are only for ceremoniesPurposes some of Lincoln-almost; the county has there however no Polizeigewalt.
The remaining districts of Lincoln-almost are bad clay/tone, East Lindsey, Lincoln, South Holland, South Kesteven, North Kesteven and west Lindsey.
