Maria Malibran
María de la Felicidad Malibran geb. García (* 24. March 1808 in Paris (France); † 23. September 1836 in Manchester (England)) was a French opera singer (Mezzosopran). She was celebrated as La Malibran.

Maria García buildup in a high-musical family with Spanish roots. Their father was the tenor and singing teacher Manuel García d.A., its sister those likewise admitted Mezzosopranistin Pauline Viardot Garcia and her brother the tenor and singing teacher Manuel García d.J..
Maria and Pauline García learned first singing with her father. At the age of five years Maria sang a child role in Ferdinando Paers Agnese in Neapel. It gave its debut in London in the year 1825 at the King's Theatre as Rosina in that to bar beer of Sevilla. At the end it went to the season with its father and two brothers and sisters to New York, in order to specify together with them Italian operas there. In New York Maria became acquainted with the 43 years older banker Francois Eugene Malibran, which she married immediately. Only few months after their wedding her married man bankruptcy and Maria Malibran went had their man with the content for their appearances to support. After one year it separated from its man and went themselves back to Europe.
Back in Europe Maria Malibran sang the title part in Donizettis Maria Stuarda. It fell in love with the Belgian playing the violin player Charles de Beriot and lived together with this six years long in “savages marriage”, before it married it 1836. 1833 came out from her connection a child. In April 1836 Maria Malibran fell with a hunt in the Londoner Hyde park of their horse and hurt themselves thereby so heavily so that she of it never recovered again. It rejected it to let their fractures of a physician treat and arose instead of its further. It died five months after its accident in Manchester in England. It lies in Brussels on the cemetery of the church Notre-Dame de Laeken buried. On the marble slab on its grave place stands: “Beauty, genius and love were the names of this woman”.
The German film producer Werner Schroeter turned 1971 a TV-film over their life with the title death Maria Malibran (with Christine buyer).
