Max Jähns

max of Jähns (* 18. April 1837 in Berlin; † 19. September 1900 ebenda) was a Prussian officer and military writer.

Jähns occurred 1854 Aachen the army, came 1859 to the citizens of Berlin war academy and became then an aide of a regiment. After short interruption it stepped 1866 again into the service and did during the German war as a departmental head in war Ministry the service. it went to 1867 into the geographical-statistic department of the large general staff.

In the French-German war (1870/71) it served Paris, one of the crucial feed connections for the war process as a commissioner of the general staff for the railway white castle -.

1872 were appointed max of Jähns to the chair for history of the war art to the war academy. 1885 it was carried to the lieutenant colonel and stepped 1886 into the retirement.

Since 1894 was Jähns of chairmen of the German language association.

Max Jähns died to 19. September 1900 in Berlin.
