Mel Collins
Mel Collins (Melvyn the moon Collins) (* 5. September 1947) is an English musician, who along-played the 1960er for years in many volume. Its instruments are saxophone, clarinet, transverse flute and key board.
1970 it took up a plate with Circus. Afterwards it replaced with King Crimson Ian McDonald and was steady member of the group until 1972. Subsequently, its career began as extremely in demand session musician and Background musician, whereby it was perpetuated on a large number of albums of well-known sizes of the skirt music. Its Diskografie reads itself like “who is who” the music and of the 80's 70's. It played for Mike battery, Eric Burdon, Roger Chapman, Clannad, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Peter Gabriel, Kokomo, Alexis grains, Meat Loaf, Robert Palmer, Rolling Stones, Eberhard beautiful, Tina Turner, Uriah Heep, Tom WAITs, Roger Waters and Westernhagen.
From 1977 to 1979 it was firm member of the group of Camel of his friend Andrew Latimer. 1980 to 1984 it was member of the Alan Parsons Project.
Later it played Harald Schmidt volume with Helmut Zerlett in that and took up with this plates under the volume name “Trancegroove”.
2001 gave it a second Inkarnation of King Crimson with some musicians from the 70's as 21st Century Schizoid volume, with which Mel Collins along-plays together with Ian McDonald.
