Metropolitan Borough
a metropolitan Borough is a regional administrative body in England and an administrative subunit metropolitan of a County.
1974 were introduced consisting in England a two-stage management system, of Counties (counties) and Districts. Six densely populated areas became thereby metropolitan Counties, which were divided into Metropolian Districts. These districts received the possibility of requesting with the queen the status of a Borough. Most districts did and became this in such a way metropolitan Boroughs.
