for 605 m Mils with resounds in Tirol in the Inn valley on a washing cone, at the foot of the Karwendelgebirges, twelve kilometers east the state capital. The Gemeindegebiet is limited in the west of the white brook and in the south of the Inn.
Mils was mentioned in the year 930, finds, graves and Flurnamen from before-Roman and Roman time points out documentary for the first time however that the place is far older.
The village was also a good-visited place of pilgrimage, which came to more however after the fire of the parish church in the year 1791 ever into oblivion.
In the last 40 years Mils grew by its sunny situation enormously to the settlement and populated area. The northern local part Milser heath is to a large extent connected with the local centre. In the south of the Gemeindegebiets developed 1998 a trade area, which created 400 jobs in different industries. The area is otherwise agriculturally used. The municipality has more Auspendler than a commuters.
