Neobarock
Neobarock (also: New baroque or second baroque) is the designation of a style direction in architecture, the sculpture and in the music.

Neobarock becomes the second half 19. Century assigned, and was particularly common after 1880 furthest. It is considered as manifestation of the historicism, which replaced the classicism. Neobarock was used particularly gladly for theatre buildings, since the baroque had brought a high bloom of all theatrical art kinds with itself. In the late phase of historicism general orientation on the Renaissance stepped into the background and Neobarock for various tasks of building was used.
In Austria its use was “patriotically” konnotiert, there one alleged to the culture bloom and political expansion early 18. Century tied. In its late phase co-existed it with art nouveau, which it partly affected.
Some examples of the buildings are:
- those Paris Grand Opéra from the years 1854-1874
- the Semperoper in Dresden from the years 1871-1878
- the lock Herrenchiemsee from the years 1878-1886
- the new yard castle in Vienna from the years of 1881-1914
- city theatres Fürth (1901/1902)
- the festival hall in Frankfurt/Main from the year 1907

at same time as in architecture arise also in the sculpture neobarocke tendencies. As general agents of the Neobarock the citizen of Berlin sculptor Reinhold Begas and the Viennese Victor Tilgner are considered.
music
in the music becomes as Neobarock a kompositorische tendency in early 20. Century designates, which fell back to forms and style means of the baroque music. Most important representatives are among other things: Max active, Johann Nepomuk David, Paul Hindemith, Ernst Krenek.
