history

There is still another trade area in the north, which divides the city with the municipality high forest spatially. Beside some autohouses and Dienstleistern, also some industrial companies settled. museums
the local history museum in the old Malzhaus of the former brewery Schmole informs about the surrounding manors, the development of the art flower industry and the urban history.
objects of interest
an object of interest of special kind is the goat present before the museum poured out of bronze. It was created 1969 for the Kindertagesstätte in the Götzingerstrasse and set up in the garden, where it was used by the children as popular climbing equipment. Later it was removed because of the danger of injury however and stood then some years on the Götzinger height, before it found in the 90's-years of the previous century into the Malzgasse its current place.
Worth seeing is also a sandstone figure, which represents at the corner Böhmi road market in 4,50m height a flower girl and to 1956 by the Dresden sculptor Albert Braun was created. The only meagerly dressed figure provided with its list at that time for some riot.
At the front of the building Dresden road 3 - the chocolate shop - a relief reminds a commercial woman, who was around 1900 a city-well-known personality of the “Pfeng Pauline”. In its basket it had always sweets, which it for amounts of Pfennig (therefore it the name) on the people celebrations of the environment sold. environment
the Neustädter valley is because of the border between Lausitzer mountain country and Elbsandsteingebirge the close Lausitzer Überschiebung. Who approaches coming from western direction, thus from Dresden or Stolpen, the place, crosses the truck mountain as the first (mundartlich grain mountain spoken). Although sometimes the mountain is unbewaldet today and is cultivated grain on it, it does not have its designation from the grain but of the barrows, with which the tradespeople in the Middle Ages crossed this mountain on the old salt road. From here a beautiful view is offered over the small town and its environment, which are well opened with moving ways.
Southwest is the local part Polenz. The river of the same name clears its way by granite and then by sandstone up to the confluence with the Sebnitzbach around then after some kilometers as salmon brook in close proximity to bath Schandau into the Elbe to only flow. The Polenztal is famous for the largest natural occurrence of wild-increasing March cups within Germany.
South the ridge of the Ungers ( 538m) with the TV tower and the observation tower continues to rise. A Vorberg of the Unger is the Götzinger height - a lookout point with tower and restaurant in 425m height south of new city. This is a popular trip goal of the Neustädter. One reaches it from the disk construction site “Bruno Dietze ring” out by means of the “promenade way”, where there is a picknick place with small Kneippanlage (water-steps). From the tower, which consists of an iron construction, one has a beautiful panorama into the surrounding mountains Elbsandsteingebirge, ore mountains, Lausitzer mountain country and with good view also in the Isergebirge and giant mountains]. In the winter is the departure of the Götzinger height as Rodelbahn likes.
Eastward the view goes over the Langburkersdorfer valley, where the Polenz rises. Behind it are the mountains Nordböhmens.
In the northeast the high forest with its highest collection, the Valtenberg (588m).
