Niederschlesien

of these articles is occupied with the historical Niederschlesien. For the Wojewodschaft see Woiwodschaft Niederschlesien.

Niederschlesien (Polish Dolny Śląsk) is a part of Schlesiens.

From 1919 to 1938 and from 1941 to 1945 Niederschlesien was its own province (Capital Breslau) of the State of Prussia within Germany. The province Niederschlesien was created 1919 by division of the past province Schlesien.

As consequence of the Second World War 1945 the State of Prussia was in fact dissolved , and all regions east the or Neisse line Poland was awarded. The small part west the Lausitzer Neisse, which was however historically a part of the Oberlausitz and not to the heartland Niederschlesiens belonged and this was only attached after 1815 by the Prussian administrative reform, belongs today to thatGerman Lands of the Federal Republic Saxonia and Brandenburg. This concerns the area around Görlitz, Hoyerswerda, Rothenburg OIL white water, Niesky, resting country and local edge (see also Niederschlesi Oberlausitzkreis and district Oberspreewald Lausitz).

Since 1999 there is a Polish Woiwodschaft Niederschlesien, which agrees partial with the historical Niederschlesien.
