North west company
the North west company was a fur trade company from Canada. It was created 1783 in Montreal. 1821 fused the North west company with the Hudson's Bay company under their names. For the unification the director/conductor of the Hudson Bay company George Simpson was responsible.
The North west company consisted first only of loose unions of dealers, until she was created in the winter 1793 officially by the Scot Simon McTavish. Differently than the Hudson's Bay company however never received it a constitutional charter. Up to its coming up 1821 into the Hudson's Bay company possessed the North west company the monopoly on the trade of Montreal into the northwest.
