The Oblast Lipezk (Липецкаяобласть, Lipezkaja oblast) is a Oblast in southern Russia.
The Don flows through the Oblast, which lies in the Eastern European level. Important traffic distances cross the area, so for example the connection of Moscow with the north Caucasus.
The most important branches of industry are the Eisenverarbeitung and mechanical engineering.
Apart from the administrative seat Lipezk with approximately 505,000 inhabitants has still the city Jelez meaning.
