Oil mountain
oil mountain lies in a small side valley of the Mühlbaches in the northwest Taunus 280m over NN. The municipality has 530 inhabitants (conditions: 1. January 2004), covers 402 hectares and belongs to the administrative district of the convention community Nastätten in the Rhine Lahn circle with seat in bath Ems.
As Ulsbure the place name documented for the first time around 1260. After different modifications for instance the today's way of writing is starting from 1720. The origin of the place name is interpreted differently as brook name or as mountain of the Uhle.
In May 2005 oil mountain its 750-jähriges anniversary celebrated.
